Why Grimace
On June 12, 1971 the McDonald’s corporation released a character different from any they had before. To contrast their happy-go-lucky cast of characters they released a villain; Evil Grimace. This character stood for everything the company typically rejected and changed the brand's image forever and 34 years later, I was born. My devotion to this character has left many of my friends and family puzzled and caused them to ask me the same question; “Why Grimace?” At surface le

I wish I knew calligraphy; an op-ed
I wish I could write in calligraphy, or even a confident script. I like my handwriting, it’s fine. My handwriting is perfect for marble note books. Perfect to scribble a quick note saying that I’m leaving, maybe when I’ll be back. My handwriting frames dirty doodles in the margins well. But marble notebooks get thrown out when the semester ends and quick notes get thrown out when I come back, or when I don’t come back. My handwriting is meant to be thrown away, and that is ok

So long! Farewell! Whathaveyou!
And so Strategic Presentation spring 2026 is coming to a close. This is my third year at Rutgers and the fourth class I have taken in pursuit of my digital communication, information, and media minor. As mentioned throughout my blog, my major is acting. During my freshman year, I decided to pick up this minor as a sort of art-major safety net. I thought this minor would open up career options in theater that were more practical, like casting or theater management. While those

With this being an asynchronous course it’s hard to feel connected. Sometimes when I am responding to assignments it occurs to me that the other names

New York. Or Berlin. Or Chicago. Or Copenhagen.
Today I woke up at 8:10am, I had to leave my apartment by 8:20am. I meant to get up with enough time to get coffee and breakfast but I didn’t fall asleep until 2am last night. I felt so tired that opening my eyes took energy from me. Besides, my partner was asleep in our bed and they did not have to wake up for class for another hour. I could taste jealousy in my mouth. So ten minutes to get ready it was! I threw on shorts and a hoodie, brushed my teeth, and took my meds. The

How to film a self-tape
As a theater major with a concentration in acting, I felt qualified to walk viewers through the process of filming a self tape. I made the choice to create the video for people who have never filmed a self tape, as opposed to actors looking to refine their existing set up. No specific equipment is needed to follow along with the video. The goal is to make is accessible to anyone watching it and there for make it worth it for anyone who watches it. In the Christine T. Worrying means you suffer twice
I have suffered from anxiety since I was very young. Anxiety for my well-being, anxiety to talk to people, anxiety for my future, you name it. If there was even the slightest sliver of potential that something could go wrong, I was afraid. I found myself in therapy by age 11, but I still could not will myself to be calm. I needed a mindset change badly. By middle school, I had grown apart from virtually all my friends, and I was far too anxious to make new ones. While m
